12 countries won medals on the first day of the World Cup in Croatia

First medals in four Olympic Individual events were distributed today at the ISSF World Cup Rifle / Pistol / Shotgun in Osijek, Croatia.

The first winner was the youngest participant in the 10m Air Rifle Men William SHANER from the USA who took the lead from the very beginning of the Final. The second place was taken by Vladimir MASLENNIKOV from the Russian Federation, and Petar GORSA from Croatia was the third at his home World Cup.

In 10m Air Rifle Women event, two of the youngest 18-year-old participants of the Final at once won their awards. Eszter MESZAROS from Hungary took first place and Sofia CECCARELLO from Italy took third. Ziva DVORSAK from Slovenia won Silver.

Antoaneta KOSTADINOVA from Bulgaria won Gold in 10m Air Pistol Women. The second place was taken by Carina WIMMER from Germany, and Yulia KOROSTYLOVA from Ukraine became the owner of the Bronze medal.

Javad FOROUGHI from the Islamic Republic of Iran won 10m Air Pistol Men. This is the second victory of the Iranian athlete at the World Cup this year. Damir MIKEC from Serbia and Chaudhary SAURABH from India came second and third respectively.

The competition will continue tomorrow with four Team events in Rifle/Pistol, the first medals will be distributed in Shotgun events.
