FIRST MEETING OF THE NEW ISSF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The meeting of the new ISSF Executive Committee took place in Osijek, Croatia, on 22-23 March 2019.

The busy Agenda which generated a lot of discussions on different topics was completed in two full days.

The Executive Committee members approved the activity report of the President who in the ISSF interest had visited since being elected eight countries and during those visits he had discussed various matters related to the preparations of the next Olympic Games, continental and youth competitions. One important topic of his discussions was the inclusion of the Shotgun events in the program of the 2022 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal.   

After thorough discussions it was decided:

-       To propose to the next General Assembly the reduction of the Membership Fee from 1500 Swiss Francs to 500 Euro, starting from 2020;

-       To organize every two years a separate World Championship in Rifle/Pistol, starting from 2021;

-       Apart from the existing World Ranking to introduce a yearly ranking on the basis of which the top athletes of the season will be decided;

-       One of the two Olympic Quota Places in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol which by decision of the IOC were not distributed at the World Cup in New Delhi, to be obtained at the next ISSF World Cup in Beijing and the other at the World Cup in Munich;

-       To create four new commissions: on Development, Future Sports Program, Marketing and Education;

-       To propose to the next General Assembly to approve the new version of the ISSF Constitution and the new approach to the structure of the calendar of the official ISSF competitions in 2021-2024;

To introduce new provisions in the dress-code for the finalists of the official ISSF competitions, starting from 2021.

Besides those decisions and discussions on usual for the Executive Committee meetings items of the Agenda, the Executive Committee members had the opportunity to attend a presentation by Mrs. Rachel Spry, representative of the IOC Sports Department, who was present during both days of the Executive Committee meeting.

Also, the Executive Committee
pointed out with satisfaction the quality of the TV coverage of the 2019 competitions and their broad distribution, including the live coverage on the Olympic Channel.
