Petar Gorsa of Croatia won his first world cup gold, today, as he triumphed in the men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions event at the ISSF World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Gorsa (28) led the kneeling series with 154.0 points, and slid down in second during the prone series of the final, with 308.4 points. He climbed back again up in the lead through the standing series, finishing atop of the podium with 457.5 points.

The Croatian shooter, ranked 9th in the world, had successfully participated in last year’s European Games held on the same range here in Baku, finishing in second behind France’s Valeriane Sauveplane (who did not compete today).

Gorsa won today’s match with a small margin of 0.6 points over India’s 35-year old Sanjeev Rajput, who claimed silver with 456.9 points after finishing the kneeling series with 153.5 points and the prone series with 307.6 points.
