Spain's Pablo Carrera (26) wont the 10m Air Pistol Men event at the 2014 ISSF World Cup stage in Munich, today.

The 26-year old shooter collected his second medal this week, after securing the 50m Pistol Men bronze two days ago.

Today's youngest finalist Pavlo Korostylov (16) from the Ukraine, the reigning Junior European Champion, placed in third behind them with 178.4 points.

“I am extremely happy. I came here in Munich hoping to make it to the final match, and going back home with two medals is more than I could have asked for.” Carrera said, wearing the two medals.

“I was a bit nervous going into today's final, but when I shot that 8 I told my self 'come on Pablo you can do it.' I reacted, and I started fighting for it!” The Spanish shooter said, commenting on his match. Indeed, after scoring a disappointing 8.6-shot amid of the second series, he nailed a series of great shots climbing atop of the scoreboard.

Carrera is in great shape, and that's a good news for the Spanish team, in the lead up to the 2014 ISSF World Championship, the most important competition of the year, which will assign the first Olympic qualification slots for Rio 2016, next September. The World Championship will be held in Granda, Spain, Carrera's home turf, where he will be supported by a number of local spectators.

“Competing in my home country does not add extra pressure. I am more concerned about the heat. The World Championship will take place in September, it's going to be hot in Granada, and shooting in such conditions will be demanding.” The medal winner said.

“I am training a lot, but the best way to prepare for the Wolrd Championship is to participate in international competitions. This year I could not participate in as many competitions as I wanted to, unfortunately. But I will give my best anyway.”
