The 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women final match will highlight tomorrow’s schedule at the Olympic Shooting Centre in Deodoro. Snjezana Pejcic of Croatia is among the favorites for the Gold medal, after claiming 3 of the 4 Golds up for grabs at this year’s ISSF World Cup.

The 10th Olympic Shooting Gold medal will be delivered today at the Olympic Shooting Centre in Deodoro, as the 37 participants of the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women event will kick-off the qualification round at 9:00 AM.

 

Snjezana Pejcic of Croatia will enter the competition as the unquestionable favorite, as she secured 3 Golds and 1 Silver in this event during the 2016 ISSF World Cup Series. Moreover, in April, the current leader of the World Ranking in the 3 Positions event set a new World Record during the Olympic test event, scoring 594 qualification points.

 

Pejcic, who never won an Olympic Gold, previously secured the 10m Air Rifle Men Bronze medal in Beijing in 2008.

 

The People’s Repubic of China’s Du Li, Olympic Silver medallist in the 10m Air Rifle Women event on Saturday, will try to become the first athlete to win multiple Olympic Golds in this event, also battling with her teammate Zhang binbin, currently ranked 8th in the world.

 

Petra Zublasing of Italy, ranked 4th in the world in this event, will also compete in this event, as she secured 8 total medals out of 13 starts in the last four years.

 

The final match of the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women will take place at 12:00 PM (UTC-3).
